What is Ceramic Coating?
Ceramic coating is a professional-grade liquid protection applied to your motorcycle’s paintwork that cures into a hard, invisible layer. Unlike wax or sealants that wear off quickly, ceramic coating bonds to the surface and provides long-term protection that lasts for years.
This protective layer helps shield your bike from dirt, road grime, UV damage, and light scratches, while significantly enhancing gloss and depth. It also creates a highly hydrophobic surface, meaning water and contaminants bead and slide off with ease. In simple terms, motorcycle ceramic coating keeps your bike looking cleaner, glossier, and newer for longer with far less maintenance required.
The Coating We Use
At Curated Specialised Detailing, we use Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra, paired with EXOv5, to deliver premium motorcycle ceramic coating in Melbourne.
These are high-performance ceramic coatings that work together as a layered protection system for your motorcycle’s paint. Crystal Serum Ultra (CSU) is applied first and forms a strong, long-lasting base layer that bonds to the paint, creating a tough protective shell. This layer is highly resistant to chemicals, bird droppings, and everyday contaminants, while also helping reduce light scratches and swirl marks caused by washing.
CSU is also designed to handle extreme conditions, from very cold to intense heat, making it ideal for motorcycles that are regularly exposed to the elements. On top of this, we apply EXOv5, which adds incredible gloss and a slick, water-repelling finish. This means water, dirt, and grime bead up and slide off more easily, keeping your bike cleaner for longer.

This increased hydrophobic effect means water, dirt, and grime bead up and slide off effortlessly, making your motorcycle much easier to clean while also boosting gloss for a deeper, mirror-like finish. EXOv5 is highly durable, offering up to two years of standalone protection, or further extending the lifespan and performance of the ceramic coating system when applied over Crystal Serum Ultra.
