CERAMIC COATING

protected for years to come.

A ceramic coating is a permanent layer that chemically bonds to your clear coat. It doesn't sit on top of the paint like a wax, it becomes part of it. Once cured, it delivers extreme hardness, chemical resistance and hydrophobic performance that a sealant simply cannot match. As a GTECHNIQ Accredited studio, we apply the professional coating system that is trusted by workshops and manufacturers worldwide.

How a coating actually works.

THE THEORY

A ceramic coating is a liquid pre-polymer, typically silicon dioxide (SiO₂) or a hybrid SiO₂/TiO₂ formulation. Applied to prepped paint, it flashes off its carrier solvents over 15–30 seconds, then begins to cross-link, the molecules chemically bond to the clear coat and to each other, forming a glass-like bond.

That bond is what gives a coating its properties. A hardness of 10H on the pencil scale means it will resist marring from washing techniques that would swirl untreated paint. A low surface energy (measured in dynes) means water beads and sheets rather than sitting on the panel, taking road grime with it as it leaves. And a chemically inert surface means bird droppings, fuel spills, insect acids and brake dust cannot etch the paint the way they would otherwise.

But a coating is only as good as its preparation. Any swirl, contamination or oil residue that is trapped under the coating gets locked in for the life of the film. That is why every coating we apply is preceded by full paint correction, IPA panel wipe-down and, where required, a dedicated coating prep spray. The finish under the coating has to be perfect, because the coating will preserve it exactly as it is.

How the work is done.

THE STAGES

Preparation

Multi-stage paint correction, IPA panel wipe. The paint must be optically perfect and free of any polish oils before a single drop of coating is applied, anything left underneath will be sealed in for the life of the coating.

Climate-Controlled app

Coatings cure by chemical reaction, temperature and humidity affect the flash time. Every coating we apply is done inside our climate-controlled studio between 18 – 24 °C and controlled humidity.

Layered Application

CSU is applied panel by panel, allowed to flash for the specified time, then levelled with plush microfibre. EXOv5 is applied over the top after CSU has set. C5 is applied to wheels of the motorcycle.

12 - 24 hour Cure

The motorcycle is left to cure in our climate-controlled studio for 12–24 hours before any water contact. Full chemical hardness is reached over the following 7 days. During that first week the coating gets stronger every day.

PRODUCT & TOOLS

Crystal Serum Ultra

ACCREDITED - ONLY COATING | 10H | 9-YEAR GUARANTEE

Professional-only GTECHNIQ's flagship coating. Cures to a real 10H surface hardness, meaning the coating resists marring at wash pressures that would put swirl marks straight into bare clear coat. GTECHNIQ backs it with a genuine 9-year guarantee when it is applied by an accredited studio like ours.

EXOv5 TOp Coat

HYDROPHOBIC TOP COAT

Applied on top of CSU, EXOv5 is a hydrophobic layer built specifically to shed water, dirt and grime. Water beads tight, sheets off the panel and takes contamination with it. EXOv5 lasts 2–3 years on its own and is designed to be topped up without stripping CSU underneath.

C5 Wheel Armour

WHEEL - SPECIFIC COATING | BREAK - DUST RESISTANT

Wheels are the harshest environment on a motorcycle, brake temperatures, iron fallout, road salts and constant contamination. C5 is engineered specifically for that. It penetrates the pores of the wheel, and keeps brake dust from bonding. Wheels stay cleaner between washes and are far easier to maintain.

MAINTAINING A COATING.

AFTERCARE

A ceramic coating is not maintenance-free, it makes maintenance dramatically easier. Every Curated Package includes three complimentary Ceramic Essential maintenance visits over the life of the guarantee. During these visits we inspect the coating, decontaminate the paint and refresh the EXOv5 hydrophobic layer, keeping beading and self-cleaning performance at peak.
